Caring for Women and Children: UMR Clinic
Introduction
UMR Clinic is a compassionate healthcare facility dedicated to serving women and children in Lahore, Pakistan. Established with a commitment to providing accessible and quality healthcare, our clinic offers a range of medical services and support programs tailored to meet the unique needs of women and children from underserved communities.
Mission
At UMR Clinic, our mission is to improve the health and well-being of women and children by providing comprehensive medical care, preventive services, and health education. We aim to empower families to lead healthier lives and overcome healthcare disparities through compassionate care and community outreach. We are devoted to nurture a healthy future.
Medical Services
UMR Clinic offers a wide range of healthcare services specifically designed for women and children:
- Women’s Health: Routine check-ups, prenatal care, family planning, and gynecological services.
- Pediatric Care: Well-child visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, and treatment for common childhood illnesses.
- Family Medicine: Primary care services for all ages, including chronic disease management and preventive health screenings.
Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including a doctor, a nurse, and a receptionist, is committed to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care to every patient. Patients are provided medicine in its original packing completely free of cost.
Community Outreach and Education
UMR Clinic actively engages with the community through health fairs, educational seminars, and outreach programs aimed at raising awareness about preventive care and health promotion. We collaborate with local schools, community centers, and organizations to ensure that families have access to vital healthcare information and resources.
How it works
UMR operates on a sliding fee scale, ensuring our services are affordable for everyone. Donations from generous individuals and organizations allow us to continue providing vital healthcare to those who might not otherwise be able to access it.
Our clinic is operational for three hours each day. There is a slip costing only 70Rs that each patient must pay and all the needs of injections, drips etc. are included in these 70Rs. Moreover, if any patient is diagnosed with a serious illness, they are referred to hospitals by our doctor.
Impact and Success Stories
Since its inauguration three years ago, UMR Clinic has made a significant impact on the lives of women and children by providing essential healthcare services and promoting healthy lifestyles. We are pleased and self-satisfied to treat more than 10,000 patients to date. Our success is measured not only by improved health outcomes but also by the strengthened sense of community and empowerment experienced by our patients and their families. We still treat 20-25 patients every day and are honored to do so.
Volunteer and Support Opportunities
You can make a difference in the lives of women and children by volunteering your time, skills, or resources to support UMR Clinic. Whether you are a healthcare professional, educator, or community advocate, your involvement is invaluable in helping us continue our mission of providing compassionate care to those in need. We would highly appreciate if you spread the word by informing your friends and family about UMR Clinic so we can reach more people in need. George H.W. Bush says, ‘There could be no definition of a successful life that does not include service to others.’
